Preparing for your teeth whitening

To prepare for your teeth whitening appointment and achieve the best results, start by scheduling a dental check-up ensure your teeth and gums are healthy. Avoid foods and drinks that stain your, such as coffee and red wine. On the day of the appointment, brush floss your teeth to remove any plaque or debris After whitening, maintain your bright smile following good oral hygiene practices and avoiding stain-causing substances for a few days.

Before Your Appointment

- Eat or drink 30 minutes before your appointment to ensure comfort during your visit.

- Brush and floss a day to maintain optimal oral hygiene and prepare for your dental cleaning.

- Use Sensodyne for two weeks prior to your appointment to help mitigate any sensitivity.

During Your Appointment

- A cheek retractor will be used to keep your lips open and away from the whitening gel.

- A gingival barrier is applied to protect your gums during the whitening process.

- Clinical strength whitening gel is applied to your teeth.

- The gel is cleaned off, a new application is performed in 15-minute intervals.

- An LED lamp is used to accelerate the whitening gel.

- We recommend a remineralizing treatment added at the end to help preserve your results. 

After Your Appointment

DO's:

-Use a straw when drinking to minimize exposure to staining.

- Continue using Sensodyne to aid with sensitivity and strengthen enamel.

- Floss and brush regularly to maintain oral hygiene.

DON'Ts (for 48 hours after appointment):

 -Smoke

- Drink staining liquids like tea, coffee, wine and dark sauces.

- Steer clear of acidic foods.

- Do not consume extreme temperature liquids—either hot or cold—to help with sensitivity.
